Huawei has announced a launch event for global markets scheduled for September 14. The company shared the teaser on its X account (formerly Twitter), revealing that the event will occur in Barcelona. The teaser confirms that the company is launching a new wearable product for the global markets. Huawei is likely to announce the upcoming Huawei Watch GT 4 at the launch event.
The teaser carries the “Fashion Forward” tagline under the Wearable Strategy and New Product Launch headline. The post on X also carries “Huawei Health,” which confirms the launch of a wearable product. Huawei recently unveiled Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro smartphones in China. Ahead of the developments, Winfuture, a German publication, has revealed the key details of the upcoming Watch GT 4 series devices.
Huawei Watch GT 4 Series Renders and Pricing (Leaked)
The report claims that Huawei will launch nine smartwatches under the Watch GT 4 series branding in two sizes. Huawei will likely introduce the upcoming smartwatches in 41mm and 46mm sizes. The report states Huawei will price the forthcoming devices between EUR 299 (approx. Rs 26,700) and EUR 399 (approx. Rs 35,400).
The publication further reveals that the difference in materials is the reason for the price variation. The 46mm variant of the Huawei Watch GT 4 will sport a stainless-steel body. Huawei will also launch the device in other versions, including a metal case and plastic straps. The Chinese OEM will also equip the function key and outer ring with stainless-steel material.
The upcoming Watch GT 4 series will feature a similar design as its predecessor. It is worth noting that Huawei continues to secure a large number of consumers in smartwatches in the European market despite its decline in smartphone growth.
The 46mm variant of the smartwatch is intended for both men and women. The variant also features a larger bezel in comparison to its predecessor. The 41mm variant of the Watch GT 4 is primarily intended for fashion-oriented females. The upcoming devices will also sport Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and will run on HarmonyOS 4.0 out of the box. Huawei is tipped to equip the smartwatch with numerous fitness-tracking functions. The Chinese OEM also aims to offer the Watch GT 4 series with two weeks of battery life.
The report states that the smartwatches will come with OLED displays with low power consumption. Under the hood, the devices will draw power from ARM Cortex-M processor with RTOS. The report also adds that the watches will be available to purchase in Europe from the first week of October.
Recently, the upcoming GT 4 series smartwatches received a Bluetooth SIG listing, revealing the PNX-B19 and ARA-B19 model numbers.
